A little bit about Repeater 4
MSI04 UHF CB Repeater – Mount Misery (Channel 4)
The MSI04 UHF CB repeater on Channel 4 has been established in the Adelaide Hills to provide reliable communications—especially during the bushfire season when dependable local comms are critical. Positioned atop Mount Misery at 536 meters above sea level, the repeater delivers strong, wide-reaching coverage across the region.
From the Barossa Valley through to Nairne, and across much of metropolitan Adelaide, MSI04 ensures consistent connectivity. It even extends into areas beyond the Murray River, making it a valuable asset for both everyday users and emergency situations.
Operating on narrowband, the system is built with reliability in mind. It uses a dual folded dipole antenna setup, with a dedicated receive antenna mounted at the top of the tower and a transmit antenna positioned lower to optimise performance and separation.
MSI04 is proudly community-focused, supporting local communication needs when it matters most. Ongoing maintenance and running costs are supported entirely through donations, with 100% of contributions going directly toward keeping the repeater operational and improving its service.
More updates and detailed coverage information will be available soon.
